After hearing that my great grandmother had fallen and broken he hip at 97, we went to be the back up for my grandparents who are her primary care givers. She lives in a nursing home/rehab center but they are the ones who always go check on her and make sure that the nurses are doing their job. So... we packed the car up and headed down for a girls night, sort of.... Kaleigh and I spent most of the time at the hotel and my mom spent the night at the hospital both nights so that my grandmother could get some much needed rest. It was ironic that I was spending the night with my grandma, and mom was spending the night with hers... They enjoyed Kaleigh like crazy and she couldn't have been any better! Since the hotel had an inside pool we decided to take a dip... Kaleigh was NOT impressed... she likes the water in the bath tub but not in a huge blue lagoon looking pool. So... we let her wear her adorable little suit in the bathtub! The circumstances were not desirable for our trip but we did have a good time sharing some fun memories with my grandparents!
It is crazy to me that my little girl is 10 months old... where did the time go? what did I use to fill my days with that seemed so satisfying? Nothing compares to spending my days with her and watching her love, learn, grow and explore. She amazes me daily with what she can find to touch or pick up and I claim to have a pretty clean house... she is proving me wrong quickly. She is SO busy and happy all the time - unless she is cutting a new tooth, dirty or tired. But hey - at least know that something is really wrong when she cries. I am already starting to think about her 1st birthday party and realizing that I MUST - I MUST start on her baby book -albulm... I couldn't decide if I wanted to join the world of scrap booking or just do a photo albulm. Either way, I must get on it before I start saving/archiving 1 - 2 years!
So... I have been reading multiple books/websites about how to transition your little one from your bed (yes, we were pre-warned...) to her little bed. Letting her cry it out is just not an option I can stomach. We have tried twice now and Todd is worse than I am about it - to the point that he went in and got her last night and was taking her down stairs when I caught him :) She sleeps well with us, but not alone :( I wouldn't either if those were my options.... Alone in my bed or snuggled up between my parents... hmmmm hard decision! So... for now, she is napping smack dab in the middle of my bed and I'm just glad she is sleeping. The battle will not be won in one night!
Well... Kaleigh and I got out in the BEAUTIFUL snow to go to grandmas house for some pics and lunch! Then she decided to come spend the day with us! Kaleigh LOVED the snow and change of scenery but was a bit confused with what it actually was... and it was VERY cold... AND I made her wear a really warm snuggie type thing that she had not hands in!
WOW! I'm pooped! Our little angel is extremely fussy tonight... she has 3 teeth that have broken through and I think working on a 4th! Even after medicine and numbing gel, she remained unhappy. She finally bit the dust and called it a night and was out and currently in her play pin. :)
Kaleigh THINKS she is SO big! She was a little annoyed that after her 9 mo. visit to the doctor we expected her to be happy about sitting in the car seat again... so we let her play for a minute before we hit the road. Her appointment went great - growing like a weed and VERY healthy! She weights 19 lb. 5 oz. and is 29 inches long. She grew 2 1/2 inches in 3 months! WOW! No shots, which means NO tears... (for either one of us...) 9 months has flown by so quickly!
We had our first little play date today and it went great! Although she did have 2 poopies while we were there... and I ran out of wipes - luckily my friend has a 2 yr. old and a 5 mo. old so we had the wipes covered! She was very observant and liked the change of scenery. Looking forward to doing it again soon. :)
Well... Kaleigh decided to wake up every 2 1/2 hours last night - not really wanting to eat but just awake and fussy - I am thinking that there may be a new tooth appearing today or tomorrow. She has been eating her fingers like crazy and drooling... this new one coming in will make #5!!! Just one more to bite me with :)
This was the picture we took at Kaleigh's Christening, December 29th, 2009. She is actually wearing the same dress that I was Christened in when I was little! SO SWEET!!!
